Kyle Cavan named after Cavan County, Ireland. It’s the birthplace of our founder & designer, Kyle’s grandfather. Our story begins as an ode to family.
HOW WE STARTED
Our name serves as a reminder of our roots and the values Kyle's grandfather instilled in her: the importance of tradition, family and integrity. Anyone graced by her grandfather’s unforgettable nature would agree that he created a space that made you feel as though you were a part of something greater than yourself. From his influence, Kyle established the mission for her company: to build a community that fosters the sense of pride associated with belonging to something extraordinary.
It all started at Kyle's college reunion. As a Duke alumni, she searched for something to represent her alma mater but found she only had her ratty old Duke Sweatshirt.
She already had jewelry to celebrate her milestones, some even passed down by family members. Having always been a big lover of accessories and layers (and layers) of jewelry, she thought - why isn’t there a piece I can wear every day to celebrate my time in college - that shaped who I am today. So, she set out to design beautiful pieces of jewelry that would commemorate life in college and the incredible memories made there.
Along with her best friend, Elizabeth, they began the company from their apartment with only 3 school licenses - and would get denied many licenses before growing to what is now 200+ official licenses - including Michigan, Harvard, UT, Notre Dame and so many more! Kyle Cavan now boasts pieces that commemorate everything from marks and seals, mascots and colors, to campus architecture and slogans.
Despite our growth and continued goals, we have never lost sight of where we started and our roots. We can't wait to see what the future holds.
