Two years ago, Kyle and I were invited to attend Rent the Runway’s Project Entrepreneur Summit. We barely had a business plan and were looking for some guidance from a company we deeply respected. 

The day was structured in a “no BS” way — short work sessions where we could discuss ideas in small groups, ask questions, talk to one another, talk to industry leaders. This signaled how much Jenn Hyman (Harvard alum) and Jenny Fleiss (Yale alum) - the founders of Rent The Runway - understood what the entrepreneurs in the room really needed. We didn’t need fluff or inspirational quotes from Instagram — we needed concrete information and support.  

It was an incredible day of learning and the most important lessons came from personal anecdotes from the early days of Rent The Runway that were shared by the founders. Tales that inspire Kyle and me to keep hustling and building a company that we believe in.
